Seoul Global Startup Center is a startup incubator that supports foreign entrepreneurs in Korea. It was founded in 2016 with funding by the Seoul Metropolitan Government and operation by Rehoboth Business Incubator, in order to encourage global participation in Seoul’s startup ecosystem. It was established to serve as the foreigner-friendly startup hub to ease the challenges foreign entrepreneurs face as they start and run their businesses in Korea.

Out of several public programs, we find the K-Startup Grand Challenge to be the best option based on its extent and its track record with foreign startups. This is a selective program provides financial assistance, visa support and a free office in Korea’s Startup Campus. Organizes also introduce startups to potential partners in Korea. Since 2016, the annual K-Startup Grand Challenge has invited startups from around the world to apply to bring their companies to Korea, with full support from the Korean government.

It is a 3-month acceleration program based in Gangnam, with a large collection of mentors thanks to the Google for Entrepreneurs’ network. This program offers mentorship from leading Korean tech companies Samsung, Hyundai, SK, KT, Naver and LG. Startups that qualify for the program all get seed funding and free co-working office spaces. All 80 startups in the program will each receive about A$15,655 to cover living expenses in equal installments over 3½ months. The top 40 startups will be eligible to receive a total of A$31,940 each in based on their performances at ‘Demo Day’ and the Settlement Evaluation.

MARU180 is a startup incubator in Seoul, set up and managed by the Asan Nanum Foundation. It runs two coworking spaces in Gangnam and at Campus Seoul. MARU180 provides entrepreneurs with resources and opportunities – including education programs, mentorships, investments and networking.

D.CAMP is a foreigner-friendly startup community ecosystem that builds on investment, workspace and network. Located in the heart of Gangnam, Seoul, it is a non-profit organization established in May 2012 that does a great amount of community building work. It is the largest foundation for entrepreneurship in Korea funded by 20 members of the Korean Federation of Banks to create employment opportunities by supporting young entrepreneurs. D.CAMP serves as a support for startups with facilities including co-working space, lounges, lecture rooms, event halls and dedicated offices for promising early-stage companies. D.Camp has a survival rate and most of the startups will receive funding after D.Camp.

SparkLabs is a global accelerator providing investment solutions and mentoring for seed to early-stage startups who wish to expand to the global marketplace.The investment size is $25,000 per company for up to 6% equity.

They have a focus on startup companies from consumer Internet, enterprise software, online gaming, mobile, e-commerce, digital media sectors and healthcare.

The program is of three months and includes funding, office space, a structured program and access to a network of entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, angel investors and executives.
