Hong Kong
Hong Kong is a historic bridge between China and Europe and many European companies choose to set up shop here as you can register as a limited entity and open a bank account remotely, find a strong infrastructure and IPR.
There is a high number of expats living in Hong Kong, and English is very prevalent. Thus, Hong Kong may be a good place to land for Nordic startups, before venturing onwards to mainland China (Shenzhen is literally one hour by train, up the road). In fact, the local startup ecosystem in Hong Kong is mostly driven by foreigners, many of which have chosen Hong Kong as a market access base, or as a logistical hub for shipping or e-commerce.
Being a financial center, there is no shortage of funding in Hong Kong, but high net value individuals here still prefer traditional investments. Local startups are usually able to raise small rounds at an early stage, but struggle with Series A and later.
